Lisa Pasalic

Hi, I’m Lisa Pasalic and have been teaching at Western Heights School since 2000.

With my teaching career beginning in 1979, I have taught at and enjoyed all levels through to Year 6, however my niche is currently at Year 1and 2. It is very rewarding to begin the year with children who are just beginning to read, write and count and then see them leave at the end of the year with developed confidence and capabilities in all areas.

My goal is to give young children the very best start to their learning journey, so that they develop a passion to be lifelong learners. My passion is with the visual arts and I thoroughly enjoying working with different media throughout a school year.

I have lived in West Auckland for most of my life and I have three adult daughters. As they grew up I was involved in and facilitator  with local Playcentre groups,  Vice President of a local Pony Club, and  Brownie leader of a local Brownie group.

My primary passions in life are my family and teaching. These are supplemented by my love of travelling. I have been fortunate to have both travelled to and worked and lived in many different parts of the world. This gives a unique perspective and understanding of the many cultures which make up our wonderful community.  I also regularly visit my family in Croatian family and enjoy immersing myself in all things Croatian.

My other interests are fitness (mainly distance running), visual arts,  reading, gardening and generally challenging myself outside of my comfort zone, in as many ways as possible.
